Democratic Socialists of America Long Beach

We are the Long Beach Chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the largest socialist organization in the country with 120,000 members nationwide.

DSA is a "big-tent" organization made up of local Chapters like ours. We fight every day to shift the balance of power from the ruling class back to working people.

Our movement believes in a better future, and we're building it right here in Long Beach.

Our Socialist Vision

We're organizing our communities to dismantle capitalism and replace it with an economic system that works for the working class. Our goal is to achieve a worker-controlled democracy where working people, the majority, have control over our own lives — not the billionaires and political establishment.

How We Win

Dismantling capitalism requires organizing a multiracial collective of working class people to fight for economic, racial, gender, labor, and climate justice from the ground up.

Communications Committee Special Meeting

Virtual Event
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, 7/21 @ 7:30-9pm on Zoom. This is to replace our in-person meeting, recently cancelled because of the World Cup Final. We will primarily discuss our two Cadre Committee Project Proposals our fellow Comms-rades have put together for our consideration. Each one will have about 30 minutes allocated to pitch their projects, discuss, debate, and garner support as each project needs at least two committee members to buy into the project and assist the organizers to complete by the September General Meeting.

When you join, you can help with: Policy Research: determining language for a viable program, research potential bus routes to pilot program Outreach and Engagement: develop and conduct a multi-lingual transit rider survey, establish coalition partners, neighborhood canvassing, meeting with elected officials, fare blitzes Tech Support: creating digital infrastructure for survey, support for digital campaign tools Design and Comms: messaging around campaign with graphics, videos, emails, merch, and more Public Education: developing materials around universal public goods, host political education events to build support for the campaign No prior campaign organizing experience needed!
